The Love Hartlepool photography competition is back. Love Hartlepool have once again collaborated with the Wintertide Festival and local creative community companies, BloominArt and RAW35, to execute and host the official 2021 photography competition. It seems fitting that in the year that has seen us emerge from nationwide lockdowns and begin to return to normality, the competition and Wintertide Festival are based on the theme “Turning Tides”.
Photography can be a great way to exercise, meet people, build a social network and capture some amazing art. RAW35 are a local Hartlepool community interest company trying to provide a framework to bring people together, to promote health and well-being via the art of photography.
Hartlepool is a great place to photograph and we are encouraging all photographers of any level to get out there and capture this great town, we want to see people, places and events. The winning 10 entries will be printed on banners, and displayed as part of the art installation at the Wintertide Festival.
The aim of the competition is to find interesting images that best represent the theme of “turning tides”, not looking for professional, high quality images from expensive cameras, instead looking for creativity, emotion and positivity.
A panel of independent judges from the above organisations will make the winning selection. Once the winners have been chosen you will be able to view the winning photographs on the Wintertide Festival website.
